Don't worry, we've been there! We built this website because we understand how overwhelming life as a pre-medical student can be. However, the fact that you are here and reading this means you are off to a great start! So sit back, relax, and scroll through the different tabs of our website. We hope to provide you with information about choosing extracurriculars, studying for the MCAT®, and putting together your application. You got this!
We understand wanting to read about other applicants, but numbers are not everything! We hope you remember that the journey towards medical school looks different for everybody. So, although it may not always feel possible, try to refrain from comparing yourself to anonymous bloggers! We more strongly suggest tools like MSAR®, which can help you maintain a broader, more objective perspective on your scores. Finally, don't forget to reflect on all the progress you have made towards your goals! It can be a bumpy ride, but it is something to be proud of nonetheless.
Speaking from personal experience, one (or even a few), small errors in your application is not the end of the world! Admissions committees have likely seen it all before, and they will not make it the focus of how they see you as a future doctor. Doctors are, after all, people too! Just keep moving with the application cycle and don't sweat the little things. If anything, the application cycle is an excellent way to practice calming those anxious nerves!
Comparison is the thief of joy. You may feel that this unfortunate situation has sealed your fate, but that is absolutely not the case. Applicants with diverse activities, scores, and paths get into medical school and no two applicants are exactly alike. The beauty of holistic applications means that you have many opportunities to showcase your skills and knowledge. Allow this to serve as a learning experience and practice in resilience which will be important in your applications, your life as a medical student, and as a physician! Don't be hard on yourself - just keep moving forward and things will fall into place. The fact that you care shows your commitment and that you have what it takes!
